Pigmented lesions generally aren’t painful, but they can be unsightly and annoying to look at on your skin. A pigmented lesion is a result of a higher-than-normal concentration of melanin in your skin. Some will form at an early age, while others could be formed at a later time due to extensive sun exposure. Regardless of how yours formed, there are plenty of benefits to know about regarding pigmented lesion revision.
Laser Treatments May Only Require One Visit
When you undergo pigmented lesion laser treatment, you will likely only have to visit the doctor’s office one time. It is very possible that other pigmented lesions could form on your skin over time, but it’s very rare if a treated one returns.
Very Few Side Effects
Any time a laser is used on your skin, there will be some immediate side effects to look for. After your pigmented lesion treatment, you will experience some redness or darkening of your skin, the lesion itself may become crusty and your skin could be sensitive for a few days. All of these side effects are normal and will subside after a several days or a couple weeks.
Targeted Treatment
The laser targets only the affected spots on your skin, so you won’t have to worry about other areas of your skin being damaged as a result. One of the main concerns clients have is damaging their skin because of the high-powered laser. But with pigmented lesion laser treatment, you won’t even be able to tell the laser was used after the process is completed and your skin is healed.
Nearly Permanent Results
There’s always a possibility of your treated pigmented lesion returning, although it’s very unlikely. We don’t guarantee permanent results because of the low chance of it returning, but with the laser being in the hands of the right professional, the results will most likely be permanent. Of course, there is always the possibility of more pigmented lesions popping up in other areas, since the laser only treats the individual spot.
